Fifteen hundred WWII Veterans die every day in America. Who will tell their stories? Will our children know about old bombers like the Liberty Belle? In the next hour you can fly with us as we write another chapter in history. We call our story The Yanks Are Back. We begin at the home of the 390th Bomb Group in Tucson, AZ.

Take a walk back in time to WWII on The Liberty Belle B-17. This bomber was refurbished after being torn in half by a tornado in 1979. It took 15 years and $3 million dollars to make her like new.

The historic flight took place during Summer 2008, flying the historic route flown in WWII by Captain Paul Tibbits.

On the trip was an 87 year old veteran who flew a B-17 during WWII. He made this trip even flying The Liberty Belle himself.

The trip begins in Bangor, Maine with stops in Goosebay, Greenland, Iceland, Scotland and capping off our story flying in the historic Flying Legends Air Show in Duxford, England.

Enjoy an hour full of history and amazing video of one of the only 12 B-17’s still flying today.
